What About Chips and Small Cracks?
Porcelain veneers are custom-crafted to fit on the fronts on damaged teeth, which makes them ideal for fixing small chips and dings. After careful measurements are taken, the veneer will be placed on top of the damaged tooth, thereby hiding the damaged portion, and showing a more attractive front when you smile.
What About Spacing Issues?
Porcelain veneers are an ideal way to close small gaps between teeth. Two side-by-side veneers can each stretch a bit to eliminate a distracting gap that isn’t impacting anything more than the look of your smile. When we meet with you for your cosmetic consultation, we will talk with you about your gap.
What About Tooth Size?
Just as our feet and our hands are each slightly different sizes, many smiles have teeth that don’t exactly match one another. If a tooth is noticeably longer or shorter than its neighbors, veneers can be used to form a more symmetrical smile. A veneer can lengthen or broaden a small tooth, or neighboring teeth can be adjusted with veneers, to create a uniform smile.
What About Internal Tooth Discoloration?
Surface tooth discoloration can be removed or lightened with teeth-whitening treatments, but internal discoloration (such as that caused by some medications) doesn’t have to be a permanent part of a smile. Each darkened tooth can be carefully measured and fitted with a veneer to bring the color back to the state of the attractive surrounding teeth.
